Abstract |
Kachangma is a traditional herb that has long been used by Sarawakians as
herbs and health food. This herb is believed to be effective in improving blood
circulation, maintaining the health of women, especially in the menstrual cycle
and accelerating uterine contraction after delivery. Hence, efforts have been
made to enhance its use through the development of various commercial
value products. Some of the food products such as canned chicken bean
soup, paste and confectionery jelly have been developed based on this herb.
So for this study, Kachangma soap is introduced as topical application to get
rid of the tiredness after giving birth. Many mothers try to find an easy yet
effective initiative to restore energy during confinement. Often mothers will
practice herbal baths to rejuvenate the body. Hence, handmade Kachangma
soap is formulated through saponification process where the herbs is mixed
with olive oil and lye solution. This product will make it convenient for mothers
without searching for so many herbs and save a lot of time.
