Abstract |
HexaMath is an educational board game which focuses on the subject of
Mathematics for primary school. The main objective of this board game is to
attract students’ interest in Mathematics and at the same time can be a way of
revision for UPSR in a fun way. The number of players for HexaMath are from
2 to 4 players aged 8 – 12 years old. The main goal of this game is to reach at
the last pod and at the same time collect points from each of the questions
from the play cards. HexaMath is one of the games from HEXAGAMES
Series (Hexapodx Go!, HexaSTEM) and its main board is in hexagonal shape.
HexaMath consists of 84 hexagonal units, a six-sided dice, tokens that
represent the players, hexagonal play card with its own point and action cards
which denote with exclamation sign. There are 4 layers on the board and
each layer represents different level of questions. In term of novelty of the
HexaMath, there are fewer board games in the shape of hexagon that related
to Mathematics. One of the advantages of HexaMath is it uses the
entertainment aspects of the game for teaching and learning process that can
be used either in school or at home. This edutainment game also can
increase competition among students and can be used as a helping tool in
preparation for Mathematics subject. |
