The students and staff of NIIT college found that it is very troublesome when they want to access the NIIT’s website via their mobile phones. They have to use the internet browser and type a number of urls in order to access different portals of the college’s websites. Voices of a need of a mobile application which enables easy access to the college's systems have been repeatedly heard. Hence, 1Click2Niit is developed to suit such needs.
1click2Niit is a mobile application for both students and staff. With just one click, the college’s staff can access the staff portal, Learning Management System, staff email, librarika and HReasily whereas the students can access the student portal, Learning Management System, van schedules, class timetables, academic calendars, academic results and librarika. This mobile application also comes with campus contacts such as emergency numbers, campus life, news and events as well as social media links. All of the links to the college’s website is easily accessible with just an application, without having to install a hefty amount of applications for different portals, hence saves phone space.
This mobile application is one of the projects of Computer Science students as a partial fulfilment of DCS2513 Mobile Development course, guided by a very experienced lecturer in mobile development. 1ClickNiit benefits all the individuals of the college and has commercialization potential when published in Android and iOS systems.
