Abstract |
In this digital era, learning economics subjects is no longer restricted to
traditional classroom learning methods such as ‘face to face’, and ‘chalk and
talk’. In fact, some students hardly learn economics as they easily lose their
concentration in the classroom. Therefore, digital learning will be one of the
solutions to solve this problem. In view of the popularity using the smartphone
among university and college students, this project will focus on the mobile
learning where students are able to learn and practice economics quizzes and
exercises, through the apps in their smart phone at any place and anytime
with fun. The objectives of this project are to provide interactive, creative and
innovative learning methods for economics subjects so that students are able
to learn economics in more exciting and productive ways.
In this project, we propose a native mobile quiz application for economics
subjects that can deal with web-optimized e-learning content. It is
accompanied with an automatic system that converts the web-optimized data
into a mobile-friendly format, both in size and layout. Through the creation of
this app, students are able to learn and understand economics with easy step-
by-step instructions. This app will be linked to the syllabus of subject code
ECO120 (Principles of Economic). The students will enjoy benefits of this
advance method such as convenience and flexibility of schedule, self-paced
learning, enrichment of knowledge and cost effectiveness. Thus, this app will
help to boost students’ motivation to explore, improve students’ examination
result, and promotes research and collaboration between students and
industrial players.
