Abstract |
Timber has been used as construction materials as it is an environmentally sustainable product and can be fabricated into any kind shapes and sizes in any construction. Engineered Endospernum sp. products represents one of the alternative timber construction materials where a low grade of timber species jointed together by an adhesive bonding process to produce a high-quality timber of any width and length. The aim of this project is to introduce the potential utilization of Engineered Endospernum sp. for construction materials which has become one of the possible ways to overcome the limited supply of large section timber logs and the high cost of higher grade timber. Numerous tests have been conducted include strength test, bonding test and durability test to study the efficiency and capability of the materials for construction. The strength test proved that the performance of Engineered Endospernum sp can be utilized into other structural and non-structural timber products. |
