Many products in the market today help promoting body hygiene which
developed from natural and non-natural sources. Products derived from
natural resources help increase the income of rural people, especially for
suppliers. Low cost in planting and minimum care in growing the plant benefits
them with cheaper methods when processing the product.
Loofah fiber products were designed from tropical and subtropical vines in the
cucumber family called Luffa and can be found at a low price in Malaysia. It
was not only being used in dishwashing or as a reinforcement material for
composite (Paglicawan et al., 2005; Ghali et al., 2011) but also for body
scrubber. Most of the body part can be scrubbed except the back part. The
difficulties to perform such movement were due to poor flexibility of the
shoulder due possibly diseases or injuries such as frozen shoulder
(O'Connell, 2016). Inability to reach the back part, side and reaching shoulder
height due to painfulness or stiffness, are the common symptoms of frozen
shoulder, that limits the range of motion of upper extremities (Page & Labbe,
2010) which resulted to the back part of the body left without being
scrubbed.Online hygiene and environmental module (2017), suggested that
the first task in body hygiene was to find water, soap and cleansing materials.
Therefore, the purpose of this innovation product is to improvise the readily
Loofah fiber in the market as user friendly body scrubber. |
