The ‘Easy-Go Tourniquet’ is used for blood taking and intravenous
cannulation procedure in the healthcare center. At present, the practice of
many of the healthcare providers is using the latex glove replacement of
tourniquet which is painful for the client and rather unprofessional. The
healthcare providers also use the conventional rubber strap as the tourniquet
which is quite painful for the client as it needs to be tied on the limbs. While in
some settings where the commercialized tourniquet is in use, it easily loses its
elasticity and the regulator is easily broken too. In view of all the above
problems, Easy-Go Tourniquet is made with stainless steel hooks that are
adjustable to various limbs sizes. Made out of elastic fabric, it is more
comfortable compared to rubber straps. With few hooks attached to it, the
tourniquet is easy to apply and remove. The Easy-Go Tourniquet is also
cheap, materials are easily available, light and also reusable besides
washable to prevent infection. Furthermore, if any of the hooks is broken, it
can easily be replaced without having to change the whole set. It also has
high potential to commercialize as it is one of an important tool required in the
daily task of the healthcare provider. It is needed by many categories of the
healthcare provider, especially doctors, nurses, medical assistants as well as
medical laboratory technologists. |
