Abstract |
Teaching methods have evolved from conventional to modern approaches
such as incorporating mobile learning which is highly applicable in language
teaching. Iban Language is one of the most spoken languages in Sarawak.
Currently, there is no locally produced mobile application as a tool for learning
the language by non-native speakers. An interactive Mobile Application was
designed and developed for learning Iban Language and it serves
as a repository to preserve the language. It is an interactive mobile application
which includes multimedia elements such as audio, text, and images. It
consists of two modules; vocabulary and conversations, which incorporates
pronunciations and spellings that will enhance learners’ vocabularies and
phrases. Therefore, this research is conducted to evaluate the users’
acceptance on the usage of the interactive mobile application in learning Iban
language. The finding shows that the users have high interest in using this
application to learn the language. The users also found that the application
provides usefulness and ease of use in self-learning context of the language.
Thus, this conclude that, the users have positive acceptance in using the
application which can help them to learn Iban Language better compared to
conventional teaching and learning method.
