Abstract |
Vita-G Flour is a gluten free replacement to wheat flour. It
provides alternative
and cheaper products to those who suffer suffer Celiac
Disease. It is
processed from local banana peels, Musa paradisiaca
“sekaki’. Vita-G flour is
made of 100% banana waste without any added additives,
preservatives and
chemicals or dyes. The uniqueness about this product
contains antioxidant
properties. This fruit peels are rich in minerals like potassium,
phosphorus,
magnesium and calcium. In addition, high contents of Vitamin
A, C, E and
carotenoids are reported abundant in this fruit peels.
Moreover, it also
contains carbohydrates and fiber which contribute to health
improvement.
Furthermore, it is expected to maintain the normal blood
pressure, boosts
one’s energy as well as act as a long term protection against
Alzheimer’s
disease. Besides, it also burns excess fats in the body and
help in the
regulation of body fluids. Thus, this innovative product which
derived from the
local banana peels is usable for daily purpose with many
health benefits. The
Vita-G Flour product is expected to have a great potential
commercialization
in the food and beverage markets, which was valued at
$3,126 million in
2015, and is projected to reach $5,279 million by 2022,
growing at a
Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 7.5% from 2016
to 2022. This
gluten-free product is filling for two Intellectual property right
(Trade Secret)
and is licensed to Banana Trees Sdn Bhd under the High
Impact Programme
(HIP)-2 from the Platcom Venture Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of
Agensi Inovasi
