Project Title | ABG: Accounting Balancing Game |
Project Category | Innovation |
Abstract | ABG is a supplementary teaching tool integrating fun elements which enhances student’s ability to response quickly to financial accounting problems. Many accounting students still face difficulties to recall and apply their basic financial accounting effectively as they progress to a higher level. Previous researchers found that utilization of game would foster a proactive learning environment and increase students’ participation. The unique design of ABG game board and players’ movement is based on the rules of accounting debit and credit concept. Another unique design created is the two extra dices numbering from only one to three to accommodate the functionality of the double-entry rules in the game. More than 85% of the accounting students exposed to ABG had responded positively that it helped them to recall their principles of accounting effectively. Hence, ABG can be commercialized as an educational tool for students and educators at secondary school and university level under the financial accounting curriculum. |
