In Sarawak, pepper is often planted in highlands and hillsides which cause
difficulty for farmers to do the harvesting process. By using conventional method,
black pepper harvested manually using a knife or secateurs where farmers or
harvesters need to climb up the ladder which can cause accidents during the
harvesting process. The idea of creating Handy Pepper Harvester (HAPER) to
make the helps farmers in harvesting process without having to climb high
ladder especially the pepper planted on the hillside. By using this innovation,
harvesting process can be done without climbing and the pepper is directly
stored in the container attached to this tool. |
