| Abstract |
e-Industrial Training System (e-Intern) is an innovative online system,
designed to cater to the final semester students of Universiti Teknologi
MARA Sarawak, whom will be going for their practical training. Before this
system was constructed, the lecturers-in-charge had to prepare many sets
of application letters to companies, requesting for students’ placement in the
respective companies. Now, with e-Intern, students can effectively manage
the application of Industrial Training Placement themselves by using the
available letter template via online and with ease, as this system is also
user-friendly. Besides, the university is able to keep track of the number of
companies that the students have applied and monitor the results of the
applications. The main objectives of e-Intern are to ease and improve
Industrial Training Placement management, to enhance service delivery and
to empower students in managing their own practical training (less
supervision and monitoring from the Faculty Representatives/Industrial
Training Coordinators and Students’ Academic Affairs Department). In
essence, Industrial Training Placement becomes more efficient and
systematic with e-Intern. |
