Abstract |
Cover the Hungarian’s Zeros is a teaching innovation that intersecting
learning and fun through gamification. In solving assignment problem using
the Hungarian Method, learners always have problem to precisely work out
all the steps, especially when drawing the lines to determine the optimality of
the solution. Failure of mastering this skill gives two negative implications:
(1) revises the opportunity cost wrongly in the subsequent step; (2) arrives
at false optimality where optimal assignment cannot be made. The Cover
the Hungarian’s Zeros is introduced to tackle the problem. The innovation is
expecting learners to enjoy the game first before incorporating the features
of the game in the Hungarian Method. The empirical results show that the
teaching innovation works. |
