Project Title Clap Clock
Project Category Innovation
Abstract The Clap Clock is a device that use sound to controll switch of the clock. This device uses MIC to receive signal or sound wave and transmitts it to LM 358 then IC 4013 will amplify the signal. The circuit operation is simple. When the LM 358 detects signal or sound waves and the signal is amplified by the IC 4013 then the relay is actuated and the clock will turn ON. When the signal or sound waves is detected for the second time, relay is de-energized and clock will turn OFF. This device is powered using 14 VDC supplies adapter which provides continuously power supply. This clock uses the most up to date technology where clock operation is controlled by PIC and DS1307 RTC chip. The time for this clock depends on the DS1307 RTC chip where it operates the real time clock while the PIC just focuses on button operation and displays the source code. The DS1307 RTC chip has built in power-sense circuit that will detect power failures and automatically switches to the backup supply. These up to date technologies make the clock still activate even though this device will power ON and OFF for a long or short period and make this device competitive to other modern digital clocks in the market.
