| Abstract |
The reporting of absence from classes manually, was a tedious process
done by the lecturers in UiTM as it consumed time, used lots of papers and
filing, and duplicated data. Thus, e-Ponteng is developed to overcome these
problems and further simplify the process of students' absence reporting.
This online system enables the users to key in the date and time of the
absence, based on student ID and course codes. It can calculate the
percentage of absence automatically and generate absence status
immediately for each student. e-Ponteng can also generate three types of
warning letters that can be printed out and given to the students
immediately. Those letters are “Surat Peringatan Lisan, Surat Peringatan
Terakhir and Surat Status ZZ†which can only be printed according to the
absence percentages levels. The administrator of e-Ponteng can view the
report of all absentism records by semester. The system also enables the
administrator to do SMS blast to the absentees to warn them of their
absence status. For the purpose of sharing,, e-Ponteng can be further
customized to cater the needs of other educational institutions. |
