Redox Clothes Drying Rack is one of the innovation products to monitor
clothes drying process by electrolysis method (Redox). Normally, people just
dried their clothes under sun drying and monitor it manually. Most of the
time people especially housewives spent more time to monitor their clothes
for drying process (under sun drying) and this situation makes it very difficult
for them to go out for other activities. Besides that, unpredictable weather
conditions during daytime also makes this drying process becomes more
complicated. Then, by applying this method, monitoring clothes drying
process becomes easier especially during rainy days. Electrolysis process is
non-spontaneous reaction, in other words, no energy is produced without
presence of water even though it is being connected with secondary source
energy. During rainy days, water flows into the electrolysis cell and the
presence of water will derive electrolysis from non-spontaneous to become
spontaneous reaction which OH-(hydroxide ion) will be oxidized to produce
electron and transfer to Na+ (sodium ion) and be reduced. This process is
redox process and will produce electricity due to electron transfer. Once
electricity is produced, it will rotate the motor to pull the clothes drying rack
into the house. The advantage of this innovation is that it can be operated
without electricity power supply (semi automatic control) and only requires
secondary source energy like battery (save energy).
