Abstract ABSTRACT : Malaysia has many types and styles of batik designs but these studies of Batik Kenyalang will enliven and showcase the uniqueness from other batik designs. Hornbill is an icon for the state of Sarawak. Indeed, many products have been using the hornbill as motif, but nothing else makes Batik Kenyalang as the main identity in Batik industries. Hornbill is the main subject in the making of batik designs branded as Batik Kenyalang. Hornbill motif is not widely used in the production of batik. Most of the batik in the market shows floral motif. The objectives of this research are to look at many approaches to the denaturalization, enrichment and abstracts that have a particular charm of its history and cultural significance. Indeed Batik Kenyalang will have its own identity, exclusive and unique. The privilege and an originality of Batik Kenyalang motif is on its uniqueness and the beauty that exists in Batik Kenyalang.
