Project Title LexiMaze: Game-Based Vocabulary App for Dyslexics
Project Category Innovation
Abstract LexiMaze is a vocabulary guessing game, in the form of a mobile app that is specifically designed for the dyslexic children (those facing reading disabilities). Targeted for young kids aged 7 to 12 years old, this game encourages them to guess words with useful visual cues or hints. It focuses on the typical confused letters and words faced by the dyslexics. It also allows the children to learn words in an exciting and meaningful way with various game modes. The whole idea is to let them have fun with words while providing opportunities for them to practise word and letter recognition. Based on in-depth review of existing intervention methods and findings from our research, LexiMaze is meticulously crafted to provide positive impacts to the dyslexic children while providing analytical input (learning analytics) to both parents and researchers.
