Abstract |
Food industry and tourism are the two industries that interrelate with each
other. In Sarawak, food industry are very common views whether in the form
of food stalls, restaurants or food premises. With the low-cost carrier
services, statistics shows an increasing number of tourists from all over the
country visit Sarawak including the Muslim tourists. However, finding or
choosing a food premise around the area of the hotel become a major
problem among tourists. Thus, an mobile application name NyengNyeng
has been developed to keep the profile of entrepreneurs of food premises
in the city of Kuching. The NyengNyeng is developed to profile food
entrepreneurs which is located in the radius of 1 kilometer of five hotels in
the city of Kuching. There are 34 food premises which have been identified
and grouped into four categories: food premises with Halal certification from
JAKIM, Muslim food premises without Halal certification, Muslim Eatery
inside non-Muslim premises and non-Muslim eateries premises.
NyengNyeng can be easily downloaded to the smartphone. The impact of
NyengNyeng application is that it can help tourists in the country or abroad
who visit Kuching to make it more convenient in choosing the food premises
around the city of Kuching especially food premises with Halal certification.
In addition, NyengNyeng can also help the food entrepreneurs in Kuching to
advertise their food premises online. NyengNyeng application has the
potential to be marketed and expanded the scope to the the profiling of food
entrepreneurs in all areas of Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia. |
