Project Title | Seedling Transplanter |
Project Category | Invention |
Abstract | The Seedling Transplanter is a multipurpose manual farming equipment that dig, lift and replant the seedlings into pots or vegetable beds with minimal damage or transplanting shock which are major problems in conventional method of transplanting using a hand scoop. The Seedling Transplanter features a four feet length handle attached to an auger with flexible diameters between one inch to three inches and two spade-shaped blades angled so they converge and form a cone-shaped ball when extended into the soil by manual plunging force to remove the seedling. The soil core with the seedling is then dispensed into the new planting surface for quick establishment as it is critical. The equipment is also ergonomic tested to improve the performance of the agronomic practices. The socio economic impact is that it is easy to operate, and are designed for speed, precision and control which can be commercialized for the agriculture industry. |
