Project Title GreenTechno Polybag
Project Category Innovation
Abstract GreenTechno Polybag is a green technology innovation that can be reused for planting. Currently, polybags are made of non-degradable polyethylene and/or polypropylene resins to enable recycling. In transplanting, the polybags have to be slit open to extract plants rooted in the soil medium that the polybags not only cannot be reused, but the handling also results in transplanting shock to the plants. Not many users would collect the polybags for recycling as it is cheaper to just dispose. The uniqueness of the reusable Polybag is that it has a zipped system which enable easy and fast removal of the plant and soil medium, thus reduces transplanting shock without spoiling the polybags. Thus, this innovative product not only reduces damage, cost and time in the agronomic practices and recycling process in the agriculture industry, but also enable sustainable business that help to avoid any potential damage to the fragile ecosystem.
