| Abstract | Plant Marcotting Pouch is a one piece concave fitting plastic for marcotting grafting in plant propagation. The conventional grafting method is very tedious and time consuming as each process involves in wrapping stem’s grafting area with repeatedly rounds of plastic strip until fully covering the soil mould for rooting. Another problem encountered is the falling off the soil material due to constant movement. Thus, this process also requires skill. The Plant Marcotting Pouch has a “goodness of fit†concept with only one round wrapping of the soil at the grafted area and is held in place by three attached strings. The innovative Plant Marcotting Pouch not only reduces the time significantly to complete one grafting process but is also able to increase the success rate. Therefore it has great commercial potential in the agriculture industry as more planting materials that can only be propagated by grafting can be produced with effective cost. |
