| Abstract |
Amazing wound healing gel is a natural
wound care product derived from the
leaves extracts of Artocarpus
odoratissimus which is locally known
as terap. It is well known for its
medicinal purposes and is used for the
treatment of inflammation, dermatitis,
wound healing, diarrhea, tapeworm
infection, malaria fever and asthma.
This plant is known for its rich
source of phytochemical constituents
such as flavonoids, stilbenoids,
xanthones and arylbenzofurans. These
active compounds respond to
pharmacology evaluations, for example
as anti-malaria, anti-microbial, anti-
inflammatory and anti-cancer
constituents. It shows strong
antioxidant and microbial activities.
Thus, this new wound care product is
effective to treat skin injuries, such
as cuts, burns and rashes by promoting
repair mechanism in a natural way.
Collaboration with the Medical and
Pharmacy Faculties will help to
further establish this product. |
