| Abstract | Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi are worldwide distributed soil fungi, forming symbiosis with most plant families with importance in natural and seminatural ecosystems commonly accepted and materialized by improved plant productivity and diversity as well as increased plant resistance against biotic and abiotic stresses. Many different cultivation techniques and inoculums products of the plant-beneficial arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi have been developed in the last decades. Soil and substratebased production techniques as well as substratefree culture technique including hydroponics and aeroponics and in vitro cultivation methods have all been attempted for the large-scale production of AM fungi. |
