Abstract |
This game was created to enable
students to recognize and spell verbs
correctly. It also provided a more
challenging approach for students to
learn and use verbs in the right
context. The game began with the
lecturer asking the students to work
in pairs. In this game, the students
unravelled the letters to form verbs
to fill in the blanks based on the
given context of a passage (on the
worksheet). Students were given twenty
minutes to fill in twenty blanks
within a passage entitled “A Treasure
in the Forestâ€. The first pair that
finished filling in the blanks with
correctly spelt verbs would be the
winner. Students were asked to share
their answers by writing them on the
whiteboard. This game is unique as it
is a new way of learning parts of
speech (particularly, verbs) through
problem-solving skill. This product
has great impact to the students as it
helps them to improve their spelling
of verbs and it develops their
thinking as well as problem-solving
skills. |
