| Abstract |
Humans are gifted with multiple
intelligence. This results in different
learning potential. Few of the abstract
topics at Malaysia secondary level
mathematics such as Lines and Planes in
3-Dimensions, Plans and Elevations and
Earth as a Sphere are easy for those who
are gifted with spatial intelligence.
These topics become difficult for
others. Virtual Mathematics (ViMaths)
is a web based virtual software
developed using virtual reality
technology for this purpose. It allows
students to see virtual objects up to 3
dimensions and manipulate the objects up
to 360 degrees to examine the objects.
It also permits students to gain a
greater insight into spatial concepts.
The use of ViMaths will also motivate
and inculcate students’ interest in
learning Mathematics. ViMaths has the
potential to be adopted by the formal
education system in Malaysia and
worldwide educators. |
