Abstract |
The talun bark is a local material in Sarawak used by various ethnics in Sarawak to produce crafts especially the Lun Bawang Community in Lawas. This bookmark is produced using the original talun tree bark processed by locals. A piece of batik is glued on the top portion and a Baruk is drawn at the bottom. One can also feel the original texture of the tree bark. It is also enviromentally friendly. Not only readers, tourists can also buy it as presents for friends. This ‘Talun Bark Bookmark’ has a great potential for commerciallization and it would be a positive impact on the Sarawak tourism and handicraft industry as it will help to diversify and develop the Sarawak handicraft industry. |
