CalMAP is a visual tool employing a specific mapping technique to help students to identify the appropriate techniques of integration for solving different kinds of integral problems. Students are provided clear guidelines to assist them throughout the whole problem solving process. This product has its roots in concept mapping and layered model from the STestMAPTM product. Cognitive cartography plays a crucial role in enhancing the clarity, usefulness and simplicity of the procedure. CalMAP incorporated research-based and pedagogically sound materials to make it visually attractive and contextually rich for students who need reinforcement and a source of reference. Outstanding features include providing differentiated level of content difficulty and visual perception, utilizing visual variables and levels to enhance understanding of the learning objects, and helping to see connections and relationships between different concepts, structures and procedures. This product has high commercial value as it can be produced quickly and cheaply. Users include students, teachers and lecturers doing calculus courses in educational institutions. |
