Project Title Talun Bark Quiver
Project Category Innovation
Abstract A quiver is a container for archers to keep arrows. In Sarawak, the talun bark is used by the Lun Bawang Community to make crafts such as vests and hats. It has never been used to produce quivers. This quiver can be attached to the belt for archers to reach the arrows easily or as a back quiver which they can sling over their shoulder. This unique quiver can be used by Sarawak State Archers when they go for competition. Active hunters can use it when they go hunting. Tourists can buy it for friends and loved ones in their home country. Sarawakians can also buy it as a gift for their foreign and West Malaysian friends. This ‘Talun Bark Quiver’ would have a positive impact on the Sarawak tourism and handicraft industry as it will be able to add on to the range of Sarawak handicraft products and to further develop the handicraft industry. There is also great potential for commerciallization.
