Abstract |
About 50% of the population at the pre-
pubertal age suffers from dandruff.
Dandruff is not a disease of the hair or
chronic condition but it is a shedding
of the dead scalp’s skin. Renewing
scalp’s skin is faster in a person who
is suffering from dandruff. It is caused
by the dirty hair or exposure to the
high heat and cold. Most dandruff cases
can be treated with specialized
shampoos. However, some of these
consumers are allergic to the chemical
effects. Dandruff herbal shampoo is made
from natural ingredients derived from
Lepisanthes divaricata (Sapindaceae).
There is no risk of chemical effect
since the sources of the shampoo are
plant parts and 100% natural
ingredients. Besides anti-Dandruff
properties, this species of plant is
also used to treat or prevent hair loss.
Thus it has a great potential as a
product in a multi-billion nutrimetics
industries.
