Baby HLM is a tool to measure babies’ head circumference and length. A baby’s head and length is a big concern for pediatricians as a baby that grows too quickly or too slowly can be indicative of health problems. The idea came from the stress faced by parents and nurses each time a baby is brought for assessment. A baby often cry as the nurse measures his or her head using a measuring tape, and then measures his or her length using a ruler. The Baby HLM will help minimize babies’ difficulties and frustrations of being held still and measured due to the fact that it has a toy attached to it to distract the baby. In addition, the head tape is attached and both head and length measurements can be taken without moving the baby too much. This tool has the potential to minimize the time taken to measure the babies’ growth. On top of that it helps lessen the stress faced by parents each time their babies are measured. |
