Abstract | SSS is a device to extract santan from the shredded coconut kernel easily. It has a compressor with sieve feature that fits into a lower sieve. The compressor and the sieve are hinged together each attached with a stainless steel handle that operates the squeeze. This enables the santan to be squeezed through the compressor above, and at the same time presses the santan through the bottom sieve. This reduces the processing from 1 minute 20 second to a ten second job. This innovative squeezer requires less effort to provide the pressure to squeeze the santan out of the shredded coconut kernel. It is fast, more hygienic and with no mess. SSS has a good commercial potential as it is a device needed by every household. Its benefits are it produces fresh santan which is always a choice of cooking, reduces use of high preservatives in canned santan which may be unhealthy in the long run, easy to handle, much quicker, hygienic with less manual handling and easy to clean after use. |
