Motifs are said to have a close relationship with art creation. A motif is a repeated idea that forms the internal element in any pattern or design. Even today, traditional songket motifs are still being widely applied on fabric. Songket is a type of cloth which is usually hand woven and patterned with gold and silver threads. Besides textile, the songket motifs have the potential to be developed in other fields especially in architecture and interior decoration. Formalistic Wall Paper Songket which uses the new patterned motif can be used for interior decoration. This new patterned motif utilizes Bunga Bagon, Bunga Semangat and Bunga Bintang Pecah Lapan motifs and it is painted in achromatic (warm and cool) colour tone. |
