Project Title STestMAP
Project Category Innovation
Abstract STestMAP is an acronym for “Statistical Test through MultimediA Procedure”. It is a thinking tool devised specifically for researchers to assist them in identifying the correct statistical tests. A meaningful research findings depends largely on the appropriateness of the statistical tests employed. The procedure is flexible and simple to follow through as long as one has some basic statistical knowledge and experience. On one hand, it has been devised to help a researcher to identify the relevant statistical tests by using a top down process. On the other hand by taking a ‘big picture’ perspective, it is actually a useful tool to see the ‘whole’ in quantitative analysis which is too diverse and complicated to be observed directly. For STestMAP users, it caters for both linear thinker and systems thinker. STestMAP takes both the printed and digital forms which complement each other to make the search for the right statistical tests faster, easier and more economical. STestMAP definitely has great potential to be commercialized with little cost and much saving in time and effort.
