With the establishment of the Halal Hub in Tanjung Manis under SCORE development, the human resource in the field of food technology is thus in great demand. This three-year diploma programme offers students to venture into the application of science and technology in all processes of producing food from raw materials. The students will be exposed to current technology and will be nurtured to be highly innovative in their approach. The program also emphasizes on laboratory skill where students will work in a very conducive and well-equipped laboratories. Apart from normal lecture, students will have the opportunity to work in various laboratories namely Food Sensory Lab, Food Microbiology Lab, Food Engineering Lab, Food Instrumentation Lab and Food Processing Lab. Among the courses offered in this programme include Food Chemistry, Food Processing, Food Engineering, Food Analysis and Principles of Food Preservation. The students of this program will also go for a three-month industrial training at their last semester. The graduate of this diploma program can straight opt for to work or continue their study at degree level, taking similar area of studies or other relevant degree programmes especially under the Faculty of Applied Sciences, UiTM Shah Alam.
