Diploma in Building (AP116)

Program Details

The Department of Building is one of the earliest departments formed under the school of Architecture, Planning and Surveying (now, known as Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying) at the same time with the establishment of MARA Institute of Technology in 1967. The department has since produced more than 3500 graduates at the Diploma level. The 3-year Diploma programme is conducted on a full-time basis in UiTM Seri Iskandar, Perak and UiTM Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. The Diploma programme is fully recognized by the Malaysian Government and also fully accredited and recognized by the Chartered Institute of Building, United Kingdom since 1976. This three years programme include a 6 month practical training. The programmes aimed to produced semi profesionals with sound knowledge in construction technology and management. Diploma in Building achieves exemption from Level I and partly Level II of the Chartered Institute of Building examinations.

Job Opportunities

Graduates have the opportunity to work in public sector in various agencies and in private sectors as site supervisor, assistant quantity surveyor, assistant contract executive, construction programme planner and project scheduler.

Further Study Opportunities

Graduates have the opportunity to further study for their Bachelor Degree in local institution and abroad in the following fields: - Construction Management - Construction Technology - Quantity Surveying - Building Surveying - Civil Engineering - Architecture

Admission Requirement

A Pass in SPM or equivalent that is recognized by the Malaysian Government with a minimum of five (5) credits including the following subjects: - Bahasa Melayu - English - Mathematics / Additional Mathematics - Physics / Chemistry / Additional Science/ Science / Teknologi Kejuruteraan
