Bachelor of Science (Hons) Chemistry (AS202)

Program Details

This is a three-year program for students coming from matriculation or STPM. However, for students coming with a diploma, the tenure of the study can be shortened to 2 to 2 1/2 years, depending on their credit exemption. This degree programme provides the students with important skill in the area of analysis, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and physical chemistry. To further enhance the laboratory and technical skill, the students of this program will also undergo industrial/practical training for certain period of time. With such training, the graduate of this program will have an added value that will be beneficial to their future employer. Apart from majoring in Chemistry, the students will also be minoring in Business Management. The students will also take courses in Marketing, Management and Finance. This is to equip the students with proper skills in financial and company management. Such courses will prepare the students with the business skill if they plan to run their own business in the future. The graduate of this programme can also opt to further their studies at Master or Doctorate levels. This will enable the students to become fully professional and subject-expert, and thus will fulfill the needs of the current workforce.

Admission Requirement

Diploma i) From UiTM - Obtaining a minimum CGPA of 2.00 in Diploma in Science, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, Polymer, Pharmacy, Food Technology or Chemical Enginerring - Obtaining a minimum CGPA of 2.30 and 2 years working experience in other science based diploma - Obtaining minimum Band 2 for MUET ii) From other institution - Obtaining a minimum CGPA of 3.00 in chemistry related diploma program and pass SPM with minimum 5 credits including Mathematics/Additional Mathematics and pass Bahasa Inggeris. - Obtaining a minimum CGPA of 3.00 in other science based diploma program, 2 years working experience in chemistry related industry and pass SPM with minimum 5 credits including Mathematics/Additional Mathematics and pass Bahasa Inggeris. - Obtaining a minimum CGPA of 2.75 in chemistry related diploma program, 2 years working experience in chemistry related industry and pass SPM with minimum 5 credits including Mathematics/Additional Mathematics and pass Bahasa Inggeris. - Obtaining minimum Band 2 for MUET - Matriculation/Science Foundation i) Obtaining a minimum CGPA of 2.30 with grade B- (2.67) in 2 subjects including Chemistry/Engineering Chemistry and Grade C (2.00) in one of the following subjects - Mathematics - Biology - Physics/Engineering Physics ii) pass SPM with minimum 5 credits including Mathematics/Additional Mathematics and pass Bahasa Inggeris iii) Obtaining minimum Band 2 for MUET STPM i) Obtaining a minimum CGPA of 2.30 with grade B- (2.67) in 2 of the following subjects - Chemistry - Mathematics T/Further Mathematics T/Physics/Biology ii) pass SPM with minimum 5 credits including Mathematics/Additional Mathematics and pass Bahasa Inggeris iii) Obtaining minimum Band 2 for MUET
