Program Details

The AC220 programme has been designed with the objective of providing accounting education at professional level to meet the demands of both the public and private sectors. The duration of this programme is 4 years (8 semesters) for graduates from STPM/Matriculation or any equivalent qualification. Students who have completed Diploma in Accountancy, UiTM will begin the programme at semester three (3). Other Diploma candidates may also apply for credit transfer if they fulfilled UiTM transfer credit requirements.

This programme is fully recognized by the Government as a professional qualification, and other related bodies especially Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA) as a professional qualification.

The Bachelor of Accountancy programme is divided into eight (8) semesters with emphasis on inter-disciplinary approach to accounting.

Further Study Opportunities

AC220 programme graduates with good academic results may further their studies at any local or foreign institution of higher learning. Among the courses available are as follows: - Master's programme in Accountancy in UiTM or any other universities - Professional qualifications (MICPA, ACCA and CIMA)

Admission Requirement

UNIVERSITY GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Passed SPM / equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu / Malaysia.
    Pass in History subject.

2. Obtained at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in General Studies and a minimum CGPA of 2.00.

3. Passed Matriculation / UM Science Foundation / UiTM Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.

4. Passed Diploma from institutions of higher learning recognized by the Government of  Malaysia.
    Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 1.

PROGRAMME REQUIREMENTS

DIPLOMA UiTM
- Diploma in Accountancy / Diploma in Accounting Information System with CGPA of at least   3.00 and MUET Band 3, or

- Diploma in Accountancy / Diploma in Accounting Information Systems with CGPA of at least 2.50 with TWO (2) years working experience in the 
   related Field of accounting / finance and MUET Band 3, or

- Diploma in Business Studies / Diploma in Banking Management / Diploma in Investment Analysis from the Faculty of Business Management with 
  CGPA of at least 3.50 and MUET Band 3.

DIPLOMA FROM OTHER HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS
(RECOGNISED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF MALAYSIA)
- Diploma in Accountancy with CGPA of at least 3.50 and MUET Band 3.

- Diploma in Accountancy with TWO (2) years working experience in the
  related field of accounting / finance with CGPA of at least 3.00 and MUET Band 3.

UiTM FOUNDATION / UM SCIENCE FOUNDATION / MATRICULATION
- Grade B (3.00) in TWO (2) subjects including Accounting / Economics and grade C (2.00) in ONE (1) other subject and MUET Band 3; and

- Passed SPM / equivalent with four (4) credits including Mathematics /Additional Mathematics.

OR
STPM / EQUIVALENT
- Grade B (CGPA 3.00) in Accounting / Economics and any one (1) other subject excluding General Studies; and passed SPM / equivalent with FOUR (4) 
   credits including Mathematics / Additional Mathematics and MUET Band 3.

APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning)
- Passed MQA (Aptitude Test and Evaluation Portfolio).
- Age not less than 25 years old in the year of application.
- Working experience in the related Field for at least SEVEN (7) years.
- Passed interview at Faculty level.
- MUET Band 3.
